Heather Hansman is the best-selling author of Powder Days: Ski Bums, Ski Towns and the Future of Chasing Snow and Downriver: Into the Future of Water in the West. She’s a contributing editor at Outside and a frequent contributor to places like The New York Times and The Atlantic, where she writes about the complicated relationships between people and places. She lives in southwest Colorado, right between the desert and the mountains, where she’s at work on her next book about pioneering women in recreation and conservation.
